AVIATION FINANCE

A full service support by the: Gomez & Bikker Aviation Finance Practice Group

Maximizing the return on investment in high-value aircraft equipment requires adequate knowledge of complex national and international aviation finance regulations. More specifically, it needs an extensive expertise dealing with the substantive laws and conflict of laws rules that are applicable in an international leasing or financing transaction concerning aircraft or aircraft engines.

Gomez & Bikker’s Aviation Finance Group provides a full service support with regard to aircraft financing deals that are governed by Aruba, Dutch, United States and international law. Gomez & Bikker has represented aircraft and aircraft engine manufacturers, lessors and other financiers and airlines.

This experience has involved airline operations in Aruba, the Netherlands, the Netherlands Antilles, the Caribbean, South America, United States and the Russian federation.

The Aviation Practice Group is particularly proud to have represented the aircraft engine lessor in a break-through case concerning the alleged “accession” of aircraft engines under national Aruba law and international law. In 2003 the Court of First Instance of Aruba ruled that the general Aruba property law doctrine of accession does not apply to aircraft engines that are attached to small aircraft frames. Aruba is known for its aviation finance offshore services and trust offices.
