Biography
Patrick Honnebier is based in the Amsterdam office. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Subcommittee Aviation Financing Law and the International Bar Association, Committee Aviation Law. He holds Dutch and American law degrees.
For many years he has been lecturing at the International Institute for Air and Space Law at Leiden University, The Netherlands. This is the only academic institution in the world that offers its students an extensive international aviation financing law course. He also teaches mobile equipment financing law at the Law School of the University of Utrecht, the Netherlands. Previously, he lectured at the University of Aruba. He participated in the Diplomatic Conference for the realization of the Convention on International Interest in Mobile Equipment and the Aircraft Equipment Protocol in Cape Town, South Africa, in November 2001. He advised the Governments of Aruba and the Netherlands Antilles and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands in regard to the adoption of the Cape Town Convention on 17 May, 2010. He advises banks, lessors and airlines in relation to the international financing and leasing of aircraft, helicopters and aircraft engines. His expertise extends to the international sale and acquisition of kerosene and other fuel supplies, concentrating on the Russian and Middle-East producing states. He is the author of numerous articles which have been published worldwide in all the leading aviation law reviews and aviation industry journals. See www.gobiklaw.com for various publications.
